How to Pace Yourself During Coronavirus Lock-Down

By April 21, 2020Blog

In light of recent events I wanted to reach out and say, do please let us know if we can help in anyway. We are in uncharted territory and it can be incredibly challenging to our mental and emotional wellbeing to deal with such high levels of uncertainty.

I wanted to share what we plan to do to help our clients and the wider community. We’re a business built on compassion, thoughtfulness and purpose.  All of our services can and previously have been delivered virtually.

I am honoured to work alongside a phenomenal and talented group of Psychologists and Executive Coaches who will be sharing thought leadership, inspiration and positivity to lift our wellbeing in this new context over the coming weeks. We will do this in a number of ways: one-to-one coaching; group sessions and some open debates – reigniting the successful Resilience debates we hosted for several years in central London, only virtually this time.

Today, I am delighted to be able to share an excellent blog from a colleague Charlotte Housden, who was previously Head of Leadership Development for KPMG.

This blog has some thought-provoking reflections that could help us build Resilience during this difficult time. We ask Leaders in our Resilience training to think about how they can integrate the past, present and future? We reflect back on how they have dealt with challenges previously asking:

  • What strategies did you draw on to support you?
  • Did you slip towards high-risk behaviours?
  • How did you stop the downward spiral?
  • What did you do well?
  • How did you come out of it stronger?
  • Look back on those times now and try and replicate what worked.

A great visualisation exercise is, if you can imagine yourself in 12- or 18-months’ time; how will you have dealt with this difficult time? What actions would you has taken? How will you have grown?
